Factors that can amplify allergic reactions
There are many factors that can amplify an allergic reaction. These include:
Larger quantities of allergy-causing foods
Exercise
Alcohol
Sleep deprivation
Degree of cooking the food e.g. raw for all food except for peanuts where roasting increases the reactions and with mammalian meat where slow cooking may also increase the amount of allergen available and reheating will increase the reaction or the likelihood of a reaction.
All spices, particularly chilli and capsicum - except for black pepper, nutmeg and bay leaf
NSAIDS e.g. Nurofen (Ibuprofen), Aspirin, and Mobic (Meloxicam) - when taken within 24 hours prior to the reaction
Being unwell (increases immune activity)
Being premenstrual
