Lisa Offord interviews Dr Andrew Ratchford (Director of Emergency Medicine at Northern Beaches Hospital) who is at the forefront of tick removal research and involved in a ground-breaking study to reduce the debilitating problems from a tick bite.

This follows on from Dr Andy Ratchford, Dr Benjamin Taylor, A/Prof Brian Burns and A/Prof Sheryl van Nunen (Mona Vale and Northern Beaches Hospitals) having completed the first published study looking at how to remove a tick correctly in humans. This ongoing research is expected to change clinical practice worldwide in dealing with tick bites and associated symptoms following.
