Dr Andrew Ratchford (Director of Emergency at the Northern Beaches Hospital, former Mona Vale Emergency Director & TiARA Committee Member) along with and his team at the Northern Beaches Hospital Emergency Department commenced research last month into the transmission of organisms following tick bite. This research which is collecting blood samples, skin biopsies and ticks from patients is in conjunction with the Murdoch University of Western Australia under a National Health and Medical Research Council funded study.
