TiARA Convenor and Committee Member Clinical Associate Professor Sheryl van Nunen, honoured with a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the recent Australia Day Honours.

The TiARA Committee is thrilled to announce, Clinical Associate Professor Sheryl van Nunen has been honoured with a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours for her service to medicine particularly to clinical immunology and allergy.

For 27 years Clinical Associate Professor van Nunen was Head, Department of Allergy, Royal North Shore Hospital.

In 2007 she described the association between tick bite and the development of mammalian meat allergy and convened TiARA in 2013.

She continues in her roles as a Clinical Associate Professor, Sydney Medical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney, and is a VMO at Sydney’s Northern Beaches Hospital.

Clinical Associate Professor van Nunen has published over 165 papers and articles.

In 2017 she was the recipient of a Vocational Excellence Award, Rotary District 9685.
