The Manly Daily’s, Julie Cross writes of a study by Dr Andy Ratchford, Dr Benjamin Taylor, Associate Professor Brian Burns and colleagues (Mona Vale and Northern Beaches Hospitals) who have completed the “first published study looking at how to remove a tick correctly in humans which will help change clinical practice worldwide. The study published in the journal of Asia Pacific Allergy aimed to see which tick removal method was best for avoiding a potentially fatal anaphylactic reaction”, Cross writes. The study looked at 121 patients who presented at emergency after being bitten by a tick.
